After Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock won their senate bids, Democrats had complete control of the senate. And Joe Biden had ambitious goals to get the country back on track. However, those attempts have been thwarted by West Virginia Senator Joe Manchin.

Manchin serves in a deeply red state, surrounded by Republics. And the Democrat recently decided to appear in a campaign ad for one of those GOP lawmakers.
Due to the recent census, West Virginia lost one of its congressional seats. So now, incumbents David McKinley and Alex Mooney are competing for one seat. Manchin is backing McKinley. Mooney has the support of former President Donald Trump.
In the spot for McKinley, Manchin takes a shot at the Build Back Better legislation that he helped kill. The West Virginia Democrat claims, “I’ve always said if I can’t go home and explain it, I can’t vote for it. And that’s why I opposed Build Back Better. For Alex Mooney and his out-of-state supporters to suggest David McKinley supported Build Back Better is an outright lie.”
Manchin continues, “David McKinley has always opposed reckless spending because it doesn’t make sense for West Virginia. Alex Mooney has proven he’s all about Alex Mooney. But West Virginians know David McKinley is all about us.”
Mooney quickly seized on the spot, claiming that the appearance of a Democrat in his campaign ad proves that McKinley is a Republican in Name Only.
