Joe Biden Will Not Be Able to Bring His Beloved Peloton to the White House

Many businesses have had a very difficult time during the COVID-19 pandemic. That hasn’t been the case, however, for  Peloton. The exercise equipment manufacturer has seen their business boom as cooped-up people look for ways to stay in shape.

Donald Trump had a strange theory on staying fit. While he did enjoy golfing, he also claimed that exercising too much would “drain your battery.”

Joe Biden takes a far different stand on personal fitness. The president-elect loves to spin on his Peloton bike. As of right now, though, he will not be able to bring the piece of equipment to the White House.

Max Kilger, a data analyst at the University of Texas San Antonio explained, “To get the all-clear on the exercise equipment, Biden’s Peloton may have to rip out some of its key features — the mic, camera and networking equipment that connects it to cycling classes and makes it feel more interactive.”

There is, however, precedence for Peloton bikes being altered so that they pass security guidelines. It is rumored that Michelle Obama had her bike’s camera and microphone removed so that she could use it in the White House.

According to Popular Mechanics, The Biden team has reached out to Peloton to ask if a similar modification can be made to the president elects bike.
