Joe Biden On Stranded Trump Supporters: “The Longer He’s In Charge, The More Reckless He Gets”
Joe Biden is speaking out about Donald Trump leaving his supporters stranded after a rally Tuesday night. He says that it’s one more example of the president’s failure to plan ahead sufficiently, and shows why there’s a change needed.
After a rally in Omaha Tuesday night, there was some difficulty with transportation. Buses that were supposed to take attendees back from Eppley Airfield were unable to get through the airport road, which was jammed with traffic. The Trump campaign has released messages excusing the error, explaining that the campaign planned for buses, praising the enthusiasm of the crowd, and passing the buck to local authorities.
Joe Biden responded to this on Wednesday, saying that it’s an image of Trump’s overall response to crisis and governing.

Several folks ended up in the hospital. It’s an image that captures President Trump’s whole approach to this crisis. He makes a lot of big pronouncements but they don’t hold up. He gets his photo op and he gets out. He leaves everyone else to suffer the consequence of his failure to make a responsible plan. It seems like he just doesn’t care much about it. And the longer he’s in charge the more reckless he gets. It’s enough. It’s time to change.
It’s very much what Biden’s message has been throughout his campaign. On a variety of fronts — healthcare and specifically pandemic response, racism and law enforcement oversight, immigration, and other issues, Biden says that Trump fails because he doesn’t care enough to make a plan that focuses on the American people. By comparison, Biden has released plans publicly in advance of the election and promises to listen to experts.
