From the time he announced that he would seek the Democratic nomination in the Summer of 2019, Joe Biden has been considered a front runner. The polls have mostly backed up that belief.
But the early returns from Iowa and New Hampshire have not looked good for the former Vice President and he is now playing catch up on Bernie Sanders. Biden was asked about the race during a Monday interview with CBS. During that appearance, he also ripped into sometimes Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani, calling him a thug.
Biden was asked about the former New York City mayor and his campaign to have both Biden and his son, Hunter, investigated for their dealings in the Ukraine.
“I don’t think our sons are fair game at all,” Biden said. “No one has said he’s done anything wrong except a thug, Rudy Giuliani.
Biden also said that his numbers would show an uptick once the Democratic race moves to more diverse areas. He told Gayle King and Tony Dokoupil, “Nothing’s going to happen until we get down to a place and around the country where there’s much more diversity. No one has ever won the nomination in Democrat without getting overwhelming support from the Latino community and African-American community. We just are getting in the game here.”
