Seated in Ohio’s 4th congressional district as the district’s representative in U.S Congress since 2007 is Trump-alley Jim Jordan. Jordan, who has held the seat for over 10 years, defeated his opponent Janet Garrett 68% to 32% in 2016, and 67.7% to 32.3% in 2014.
This year Garrett is Jordan’s opponent yet again, but this time she hopes the results are different. Garrett has challenged Jordan to debate her on various occasions but he has refused all five of her requests.
“On Tuesday, he’ll chicken out of another debate in Marion,” Garrett wrote. “I’m tired of waiting for Jim to show up, so we’re taking matters into our own hands.”
Garrett isn’t sitting back in hopes that the several controversies surrounding Jordan will help sink him in the midterms. She’s not relying on the accusations that Jordan helped protect a sexual predator while he was a coach at Ohio State University. She’s also not relying on his consistent attacks of the FBI and DOJ to cost him all that many votes in their traditionally red district.
She has, however, released several very well targeted and poignant campaign videos targeting Jordan for the hypocrite and coward that many people view him as.
In her latest video, she depicts Jordan as a quivering, cowardly sock-puppet. In the ad seen below, Garrett is shown in a debate in which sock-puppet Jordan is too afraid to actually take part in the conversation.
Janet Garrett is still trying to raise money for her campaign, and asks anyone willing to donate to do so via Actblue. Garrett can also be found on Twitter @Janet4OH.
