Jim Jordan Accidentally Reveals the Truth Behind Trump’s National Emergency
Congressman Jim Jordan (R-OH) confirmed what the majority of Americans were already thinking when he inadvertently confirmed that President Donald Trump’s declaration of a national emergency to secure more funds for a border wall was just a campaign promise.
The President said, ‘This is such a grave problem, I need more money to build more wall, and to fulfill the campaign promise that I told the American people I was going to do,’ Jordan, the top Republican on the House Oversight Committee, told ABC’s “This Week” host Martha Raddatz in an interview.
Despite the fact that the majority of undocumented immigrants from Central America, wishing to come here, are seeking political asylum and the ones already here are simply on expired visas, Trump has been stoking even more paranoia and fear in his supporters. Rep. Jordan seemed to echo those fears when he cited caravans of immigrants.
“How many caravans do we need?” he wondered. “Six? Seven? Or just an endless caravan that never stops?”
Even though the majority of drugs smuggled into America are done by planes, boats, or through other legal ports of entry, Jordan cited recent drug busts as rationale for the wall. After all, drug kingpin El Chapo escaped prison by tunneling under a wall.
Trump essentially ran on one thing and one thing only: building a wall and having Mexico pay for it. It’s painfully obvious that Mexico never had any intention of paying for it.
