During a Thursday segment on MSNBC, Jen Psaki delivered a theory as to why Kamala Harris's running mate Tim Walz is making Donald Trump crazy.
Tim Walz has only been Harris's running mate for a few days, but he's only helped to increase the momentum and energy behind the Democratic ticket. And Donald Trump, who recently selected his own running mate in J.D. Vance, doesn't seem happy about it at all.
Psaki began by hitting on something Claire McCaskill had suggested, "Tim Walz is who J.D. Vance wants to be. [That] is why he's driving Donald Trump so crazy. He is legit, authentically an American regular guy you could talk to in a hardware store. That's not who J.D. Vance actually is even if that's who he presents himself as on paper. That's part of the problem."
The former Press Secretary continued, "Yeah, look, in politics, we've all been around it a long time, voters, the American public can sniff inauthenticity; this guy is not authentic. He doesn't like Trump. He's not presenting himself as who he was for many decades before he had this kind of about-face to try to connect with the MAGA world."
Psaki closed by saying, "People recognize it, voters are not dumb, they're smart. That's a root problem for J.D. Vance, is that he is just not authentically who he presented himself to be at all."
