Thanks to his involvement in the Mueller Report, William Barr has been more vocal than most Attorney Generals. Barr made a controversial appearance on Fox News yesterday to discuss the report and other matters pertaining to Trump.
Criticism for the Attorney General’s interview on the news network came in fast and furious. Legal analyst, Jeffrey Toobin, claimed that rather than acting in the best interest of the country, Barr was just parroting Sean Hannity’s talking points.
Appearing on The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer, Toobin said, “It turns out the attorney general is Sean Hannity and Sean Hannity is the attorney general.”
The lawyer continued, “I mean, every talking point from Fox News gets repeated. That he has no problem with calling the FBI, which works for him, ‘a hoax’ and ‘a witch hunt’ and Donald Trump co-operated fully even though he didn’t talk to the investigation.”
Toobin wasn’t the only figure to have an opinion on Barr’s interview. Former FBI Director, James Comey tweeted last night, “The AG should stop sliming his own Department. If there are bad facts, show us, or search for them professionally and then tell us what you found. An AG must act like the leader of the Department of Justice, an organization based on truth. Donald Trump has enough spokespeople.”

CNN host, Anderson Cooper also weighed in on the Attorney General’s media appearances. Cooper claimed that Barr was “fueling the flames of conspiracy” by using words like “spying” and “witch hunt” when speaking about Trump’s case.
