Appearing on Joy Reid's MSNBC show, Rep. Jasmine Crockett went off on GOP Rep. Chip Roy over his comments about Kamala Harris.
One of the main takeaways from Donald Trump's presidency is that he made Republicans comfortable with being openly racist. While they may couch their comments in coded language, it is never all that difficult to figure out what they are talking about.
This was recently the case with Chip Roy. The Texas Rep. was desperate to blast Kamala Harris despite the Vice President's impressive credentials. Roy recently said of Harris:
"At the end of the day, I don’t think they’ll go there. I don’t think they can. They’re in a box. They are in a box where they’ve got to choose between a mentally incompetent president and a D.E.I. vice president. And they know that they’re gonna be facing a problem either way."
During Crockett's appearance on MSNBC, she was asked about those comments specifically. She responded, "You can see he wishes he had half the competency of Vice President Kamala Harris. Don’t talk to me about what a D.E.I. hire looks like because we know that you have never engaged in diversity, equity, or inclusion in your office. So we know that you don’t know anything about hiring diversity."
