Jan 6th Committee Issues Subpoenas For Roger Stone, Alex Jones, Others Involved in ‘Stop the Steal’ Rally

January 6th House Select Committee Chairman Bennie G. Thompson (D-MS) today announced that the Select Committee has issued new subpoenas to five individuals as a part of its investigation into the January 6th attack on the U.S. Capitol and its causes. The committee is demanding records and testimony from five witnesses who helped or had knowledge of the planning and financing of the January 5th and 6th rallies in Washington D.C. and the subsequent march and violent attack on the United States Capitol.
The subpoenas were sent to Trump associate Roger Stone, InfoWars host Alex Jones, right-wing activist Dustin Stockton and his wife, Jennifer Lawrence (not to be confused with the actress), and Taylor Budowich.

Taylor Budowich is currently the primary political spokesperson for Donald Trump and serves as communications director for the Save America PAC. Dustin Stockton was one of the administrators of a “Stop the Steal” Facebook group that amassed hundreds of thousands of followers before it was shut down by the social media company the day after it was launched. According to the committee’s subpoena letters, Stockton and Lawrence helped organize a series of rallies after the November 2020 election up to the rally held at the Ellipse in Washington, DC, on January 6th, aimed at supporting Trump and his claims of election fraud.

Chairman Thompson issued the following statement: “The Select Committee is seeking information about the rallies and subsequent march to the Capitol that escalated into a violent mob attacking the Capitol and threatening our democracy. We need to know who organized, planned, paid for, and received funds related to those events, as well as what communications organizers had with officials in the White House and Congress. We believe the witnesses we subpoenaed today have relevant information and we expect them to cooperate fully with our effort to get answers for the American people about the violence of January 6th.”
