Jailed Insurrectionist Says Trump Betrayed ‘Political Prisoners’ by Cancelling Today’s Address

Donald Trump is indefensible

Today marks the first anniversary of the attack on the US Capitol by supporters of Donald Trump. The former president initially planned on giving a speech from Mar-a-Lago. Someone finally got to him, though, and made him see that the optics were terrible.

Trump’s cancellation, though, has riled some of his biggest supporters. Edward Jacob Lang, a jailed insurrectionist, says that Trump betrayed the political prisoners.

Lang made the comments during a phone interview with Stew Peters. He told the host, “I am so disappointed in Trump for canceling his January 6th press conference. It just shows how far we have fallen.”

He continued, “There should be a hundred thousand people in DC tomorrow at the very minimum … I am so disappointed with Trump and the American people at large that just do not get behind the January 6 political prisoners. I feel like I have been abandoned by the political hierarchy, our leaders, senators, and president. President Trump, where are you?”

The insurrectionist then spoke directly to Trump, saying, “You better do a press conference, man. We are rotting in jail because we stood up for what you told us to stand up for.”
