Ivanka Trump Takes Questions From Her Own Spokesperson at Middle Eastern Event
Donald Trump and his family like to be in control of how they reveal information to the public. The President, himself, likes to use his Twitter account as his primary way of communicating. The White House Press Secretary, Stephanie Grisham, has never held a press conference though she does frequently appear on Fox News.
The President’s daughter, Ivanka, serves as an adviser to her father. And somewhat in that capacity, she recently appeared at the Doha Forum in Qatar. During the event, the First Daughter took a series of questions from her own spokesperson.
According to Buzzfeed, attendees of the event take tough questions about subjects like war crimes or term limits. That wasn’t the case for Ivanka Trump, who was essentially fawned over.
Morgan Ortagus asked the questions. She is a former Fox News contributor who now works in the State Department. She asked Trump, “One of the things that I love about what you’re doing to help women around the world is that you have tied economic security, global stability and countries national security interest with how they treat women.”
The spokesperson also queried, “You were able to put women’s prosperity into the national security strategy. That was so important to me that you did that and I’d love for you to explain that.”
For her final question, Ortagus wondered, “With all of the successes of the initial launch what are you doing to ensure this lasts much beyond your time in the White House?”
