Ivanka Trump Moving to Florida, Reportedly Feeling Out Political Opportunities in the State

All 3 of Donald Trump’s oldest children were given specific jobs to do in his administration. Donald Jr. and Eric mostly acted as surrogates, appearing on cable news and attending rallies. But Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner were given much bigger responsibilities such as making peace in the Middle East or improving the unemployment rate.

While they previously lived in New York City, Trump and Kushner have reportedly realized they won’t be welcome back there. So they are buying a new property in the much more Conservative friendly state of Florida. And according to CNN, they may be seeking out political opportunities in the state as well.

The couple is paying between $28-$30 million for the property located in Miami Beach. The area where they are moving is known for it’s tight security.

In addition to the security offered by the area, Trump is also looking into political opportunities. CNN’s Kate Bennett writes, “Trump has not ruled out a near-future run for office, nor has she publicly denied she has political ambitions of her own. Florida, which President Donald Trump won in 2016 and 2020, provides a potential opportunity for Ivanka Trump, should she choose to enter politics.”

Adam C. Smith a former Tampa Bay Times editor, says she could be interested in Marco Rubio’s senate seat. Smith told CNN, “I wouldn’t think Rubio would deter her if she wanted to run. The last time Marco Rubio ran against a Trump in Florida, in the 2016 presidential primary, Rubio was crushed by 19 percentage points.”
