Rudy Giuliani has served as Donald Trump’s informal lawyer since the President’s term began. His service has not come without controversy. Giuliani’s actions on Trump’s behalf in Ukraine were an important part of an impeachment investigation being opened.
Following Trump’s acquittal in February, the former New York City mayor hasn’t appeared much on cable news. Giuliani has reemerged, however, to talk about unrest over the George Floyd killing. During an appearance on Good Morning Britain on Thursday, the lawyer got involved in a shouting match with Piers Morgan.
There was drama from the start. Prior to Giuliani’s segment, Morgan and co-host Susanna Reid talked about the racial undertones in Donald Trump’s “thug” tweet.
Giuliani began his interview on fire, angered that the hosts could possibly think Trump was racist. “You misinterpreted him,” he told the hosts. “You misinterpreted him on purpose, to create the result you want.”
The men went back and forth for a while with Giuliani eventually telling the host that he was, “a failed journalist.”
Morgan savagely replied to the former New York City mayor, “You’ve gone completely mad and abusive and it’s really sad what has happened to you.”
The shouting match continued with Giuliani eventually saying, “I’m up here at 1am. I think you’d give me the courtesy to answer. I know you don’t like my answers but you’d think you’d give me the courtesy of answering them.”
