Is Trump Behind Ron DeSantis’ Bad Time Slot at This Year’s CPAC Conference?

The CPAC Conference is the biggest event of the year for the GOP. And the meeting presents the perfect opportunity for rising stars within the party to introduce themselves to the country. Straw polls taken during the event help give an early preview to the race for the Republican nomination.

There are four big speaking slots during the conference, the ones that close each day. With the event being hosted in Florida and with his star rising, it was expected that Ron DeSantis would get a high-profile timeslot. The best time slots at the conference are the ones that close each day. DeSantis will be addressing the crowd on Thursday at 1:30 before many of the attendees will even get to the conference.
The high profile closing times slots go to the following:
Thursday: Josh Hawley
Friday: Glenn Beck Keynote Address with Special Guest Tulsi Gabbard
Saturday: Donald Trump
Sunday: Donald Trump Jr.
Ron Desantis has curiously been given one of the worst time slots possible by CPAC – 1:00 PM on Thur before most people even arrive for the 4-day conference. Odd since Gov of host state running for re-election. Some speculating Trump may be behind it. https://t.co/rEmQ9PHfim

Why is DeSantis in such a bad slot? It is easy to imagine that Donald Trump is behind it. The former President appears terrified that the Florida Governor will take the Republican nomination from him in 2024. A January Axios piece revealed that Trump has privately been slamming DeSantis behind the scenes. A source claimed, “He (Trump) says DeSantis has no personal charisma and has a dull personality.”
