Is Obama Hinting That He Wants Biden to Make Warren His VP?

The 2020 race for the Democratic nomination began with over 20 candidates hoping to run against Donald Trump. That race has whittled down to just two candidates, with Joe Biden looking sure to secure the nomination over Bernie Sanders.

That doesn’t mean, though, that some of the candidates who dropped out are short of ideas. Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren recently revealed her plan to combat the coronavirus. Interestingly, that plan has been complimented by former President Barack Obama in, what some are saying, is a potential hint to Joe Biden.

The former President retweeted an article about Warren’s plan, writing, “As she often does, Senator Warren provides a cogent summary of how federal policymakers should be thinking about the pandemic in the coming months.”

Biden, himself, has already announced that he would like to run along with a female VP candidate. Favorites for the role include Stacey Abrams, Kamala Harris and now, potentially Warren.

This isn’t the first time that Obama has been rumored to be a big fan of the Massachusetts senator.

A Hill report from December of 2019 noted that Obama had been talking up Warren to Democratic donors. One Obama ally reportedly said, “He’s asked all of the candidates who have sought his advice three questions: Is your family behind you? Why you? And why now? She checked the box for all.”
