While appearing on Fox News to discuss Taylor Swift's recent endorsement of Kamala Harris, J.D. Vance claimed that he didn't think a celebrity billionaire would sway voters.
Vance has emerged as the most unpopular running mate in modern history since the GOP made him Trump's running mate. Part of his problem is that he can't connect with people. Another issue is his inability to communicate without saying something outrageous or offensive.
On Tuesday, Taylor Swift announced her endorsement of Harris and mocked Vance in her message. Fox Host Martha MacCallum asked the Ohio Senator on Wednesday, "She has 283 million followers on Instagram, and I'm sure that somebody brought to your attention that she signed it a childless cat lady. How do you speak to women voters who obviously care about what she thinks?"
Vance replied, seemingly without realizing how ironic his argument would be:
"We admire Taylor Swift's music but I don't think many people are going to be influenced by a billionaire celebrity who I think is fundamentally disconnected from the interests and the problems of most Americans. When housing prices become unaffordable, it does not affect Taylor Swift or any other billionaire."
Vance had the right idea of not insulting Swift in his reply, knowing just how popular the artist is around the country. But obviously, millions of Americans also support a celebrity billionaire who has shown time and time again that he isn't qualified to be president.
