Irate GOP Sen. Grassley Whines: Does Fox Even Want Trump Re-Elected?

Fox News has always tagged itself as the fair and balanced network. While some anchors like Chris Wallace are willing to call out Donald Trump, the others mostly fall in line. Sean Hannity even appeared on stage with the President during one of his political rallies.

So it was Hannity himself who recently drew the ire of Iowa’s Chuck Grassley of Iowa. The long-serving senator went as as far as asking if the Fox News network even wants Donald Trump to be reelected.

Grassley was concerned with a recent incident where Hannity asked Trump why he should be elected to a second term. The President answered:

“One of the things that will be really great — the word experience is still good, I always say talent is more important than experience, I’ve always said that — but the word experience is a very important word, a very important meaning. Now I know everybody. And I have great people in the administration. You make some mistakes, like an idiot like (John) Bolton, all he wanted to do was drop bombs on everybody, you don’t have to drop bombs on everybody, you don’t have to kill people.”

The Iowa lawmaker felt it was Hannity’s job to bring the rambling Trump back on track. Grassley tweeted, “Does FOXNews want Trump Re-elected?Watched Hannity/Trump interview/KEY QUESTION”What goals in next term?Trump starts answer/gets off point and Hannity helps digress and that’s end of the most important Q to get FOUR MORE YEARS OF DRAINING THE SWAMP & Justices.”

Grassley’s tweet was widely mocked. Mother Jones’ David Corn pointed the message out as, “When a GOP senator is more concerned about effective state propaganda than a coherent and competent commander in chief. Thanks for playing Chuck Grassley.”
