Insider Says Trump’s Joint Chiefs Vice Chair Called Him “An Idiot”
A new story in the Washington Post is quoting a retired Army Colonel who said General John Hyten, the Joint Chiefs Vice Chairman, called Donald Trump “an idiot” and claimed Melania Trump is smarter and more inquisitive than her husband.
Col. Kathy Spletstoser, who served for 27 years before retiring in 2019, has also accused Hyten of sexually assaulting her more than half a dozen times while under his command. Hyten allegedly retaliated against Spletstoser, accusations he vigorously denied both during an investigation as well as a Senate hearing.
The alleged incident took place at a dinner in October 2017 that Spletstoser attended with Gen. Hyten where they sat with the Trumps. “The president is an idiot,” Hyten reportedly told her. “He is just a businessman without a basic understanding of national security. Everything is a business transaction for him, and making money is winning to him, and the only thing that matters.”
Hyten can deny these accusations, but they do ring eerily similar to other quotes from high ranking government officials close to the Trump Administration, including former Chiefs of Staff John Kelly and Reince Priebus, as well as former National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster. Former Secretary of State Rex Tillerson also famously referred to Trump as a “dope”.
Most disturbing about Spletstoser’s allegations are centered around Melania Trump. Gen, Hyten allegedly spent a lot of time speaking with her about the locations of all our intercontinental ballistic missile fields. She was “more inquisitive and smarter than the President.”
General Hyten has refuted all claims while declining to comment on the Washington Post’s report.
