Insane End Times Preacher: Coronavirus Came About Because Of Fornication

“End Times” preachers are an interesting lot. During normal times, most of them are viewed as fringe characters to be ignored.

However, we are not living in normal times. This means that they have the potential to be dangerous. One such End Times preacher is Irvin Baxter.

Making an appearance on the Jim Bakker show, Baxter warned that COVID-19, otherwise known as coronavirus, was attacking the world due to the “sin” of “fornication.” He opined:

“There are 7.5 million unmarried couples living together in the United States. That means 15 million people are living together unmarried, and that’s increased over the last 10 years by 138 percent.”

Then, without citing any scientific numbers, Baxter made the extraordinary claim that just “5 percent of new brides in America are virgins. That means 95 percent have already committed fornication.”

Where he got his numbers from we will likely never know.

After giving his opinion on marriages, Baxter went on to talk about how the pandemic is God’s way of punishing us for our sins as he read from 1 Corinthians 6 in the Bible, which states, “neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.”

Baxter is, of course, free to believe as he likes. However, science must rule the day during these dangerous times, not religion.

He continued:

“God may be using this as a wake-up call. This coronavirus may be a privilege, because I will tell you right now, there is a much bigger judgment coming.”

The thing is, people tend to panic in times of crisis. That is made all the more worse by people like Irvin Baxter who give dire warnings and religious conspiracy theories instead of common sense and science.
