Infowars Host Alex Jones Arrested for DUI Monday Night

At one point, Alex Jones was on top of the Conservative media world. At its height, his radio show Infowars drew nearly 10 million visitors each month. In December of 2015, Jones interviewed then Republican Presidential hopeful, Donald Trump.

Things have gone quite poorly for Jones since then. He has been sued by parents of children slain in the Sandy Hook Massacre. The host and his Infowars program have been removed from a number of platforms. And on Tuesday, Jones told listeners that he had been arrested for DUI the night before.

Media Matters Timothy Johnson tweeted, “Alex Jones is on air saying that he was arrested for a DUI last night, he is professing his innocence.”

Johnson also noted that Jones used a really unique excuse for the arrest. “Jones showed some paperwork showing he was tested at just under .08 — in Texas you can still be charged with operating while intoxicated if you are under the limit but still impaired. Jones blamed his arrest on the fact he was in a hot tub earlier in the evening.”
