‘If I’m So Dumb, Give Me Money’ Lauren Boebert Grifts Off Twitter Trend
Lauren Boebert has appeared in the Twitter trends, but this time it’s not her name or something she’s said. Instead, it’s a hashtag: #LaurenBoebertIsSoDumb. Also, she’s seizing the opportunity to fundraise off the trend, using the hashtag in her own post.
Lauren Boebert has been one of the more controversial new House members, with her q-anon affiliation, her gun obsession, and her apparent support of the January 6th insurrectionists. However, a tweet in the early hours of Sunday morning didn’t directly address her refusal to abide by Congressional rules about weapons on the House floor, or her tweeting of Nancy Pelosi’s location during the attack on the Capitol Building.

Instead, the tweet invited Twitter users to call Boebert “dumb” and explain why.
There were a lot of answers, so many that the hashtag #LaurenBoebertIsSoDumb trended #1 for a while. While some tweets just recycled middle school “so dumb” jokes, many used the opportunity to call attention to those aforementioned issues and others: the gun obsession, the insurrection connection, and ignorance about the Constitution and her own job in Congress.

#LaurenBoebertIsSoDumb that she thinks guns make a community safe, when in fact it’s healthcare, education, childcare, dignified housing, clean water, clean air, high speed internet, equality, equity, love, kindness, caring, empathy, and generosity that make a community safe.

#LaurenBoebertIsSoDumb that she states "The Constitution wasn't meant to be re-written," while constantly crying out in support of "2nd AMENDMENT."
Uh, an Amendment means what?

Several specifically addressed her tweet mocking Biden for falling while going up the stairs to Air Force One.

However, Boebert didn’t miss a chance to beg for funds.
Instead, she used the hashtag herself in a tweet, claiming the Twitter trend was just proof that “the left hates women,” and that she’s under unfair attack, and invited her fans to click through and send her more money.
