North Carolina Republican Representative Madison Cawthorn suggested on Wednesday’s edition of Chris Salcedo on Newsmax that First Lady Doctor Jill Biden is subjecting her husband, President Joe Biden, to abuse due to him being “mentally unstable.”
Cawthorn’s hypothesis is tentacle manifesting from a broader conspiracy theory among the extreme right wing of the GOP that 78-year-old Biden is sundowning or otherwise psychologically unfit to discharge his duties as our commander in chief.
“I don’t think he can find his way to Congress. I’m talking from a very objective stand point here,” Cawthorn, a QAnon-aligned conspiracy theorist and possible Nazi sympathizer with no medical training, said of the president. “Ya know, I think we should indict Jill Biden. I’m not saying indict in terms of criminal, but I’m saying that we should call her out for being so cruel to her husband.”
Biden “is clearly mentally unstable,” Cawthorn continued. “He’s having some form of degradation of his mind, and they are putting him up there to be assaulted by the greatest debater the country has to go against him, and right now his mind simply cannot handle it.”
Cawthorn did not break from picking on the president – which he accused others of doing – to specify who that great debater is, however, he did propound that someone other than Biden may be running the country in secret.
“As much as I want to question Joe Biden I want to question who’s really calling the shots right now because I don’t think Congress or the American people truly know who’s behind the scenes pulling the strings,” Cawthorn said, although he did not go into any further details.
