House Republican Demands Proof That Capitol Rioters Were Trump Supporters Despite Ample Evidence

Congressman Ralph Norman (R-SC) on Wednesday demanded proof that the horde of domestic terrorists that stormed the United States Capitol on January 6th were supporters of President Donald Trump.

“Anyone you want, but I think right here, we’re going to walk down to the Capitol, and we’re going to cheer on our brave Senators and Congressmen and women, and we’re probably not going to be cheering so much for some of them. Because you’ll never take back our country with weakness. You have to show strength and you have to be strong. We have come to demand that Congress do the right thing and only count the electors who have been lawfully slated, lawfully slated,” Trump said at a “Stop the Steal” rally shortly before the siege.

Norman’s remarks along with an image of the insurrectionists donning Trump flags, hats, shirts, and other seditious paraphernalia were posted to Twitter by The Recount.

“When I see this sheet on our timeline and on the – let’s see – okay at 2:07, a mob of Trump supporters breached the steps,” Norman read from his notes.

“I don’t know who did a poll that it was Trump supporters, you had the media saying the same thing, just like you had the media saying that [Capitol Police] Officer [Brian] Sicknick was killed with a fire extinguisher, which he was not,” he continued, “but I don’t know who did the poll to say that they were Trump supporters.”

Watch below:

Despite there being ample photographic and video evidence of this, as well as footage of Trump personally directing the attack, Norman still wants to see a survey of the people who attempted to disrupt the certification of the 2020 election and assassinate Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), Vice President Mike Pence, and the then-Second Family.

Here are some examples. Note the abundance of MAGA hats in particular:

Confederate flags were also popular with the crowd:

Still need to see a poll, Congressman Norman?
