House Panel Labels Trump Pandemic Response an “American Fiasco”
The Democrat-led House select subcommittee on the coronavirus crisis Friday blasted the Trump administration’s response to the coronavirus pandemic, calling it an “American fiasco” and “among the worst failures of leadership in American history.”
In releasing the report, subcommittee Chairman Rep. James E. Clyburn (D-S.C.) said in a statement, “This report exhaustively documents what has long been clear: the Trump Administration’s response to the coronavirus crisis has been a tragic failure. While we cannot bring back the more than 225,000 Americans we have lost to this disease, I hope that this report will serve as a wake-up call to make the improvements needed to prevent further unnecessary deaths and deprivation that will occur if the response continues on its current course.”

“People are truly morons,” he began, before adding: “The reality is this — I put it up on my Instagram a couple days ago, because I went through the CDC data, because I kept hearing about new cases, but I was like why aren’t they talking about deaths? Oh, oh: because the number is almost nothing. Look at my Instagram. “It’s gone to almost nothing.”
