Marianne Williamson was a surprise entrant into the derby for the 2020 Democratic nomination. While she has little to no political experience, she does have deep pockets and a legion of fans. She’s mostly been a topic of curiosity since her viral performance at the first Democratic debate.
The author has continued to push for the nomination by making appearances with a number of different news outlets. During a recent spot on Eric Bolling’s show, a hot microphone caught her complaining about how she is treated by the left.
The exact words Williamson said to an aide were, “What does it say that Fox News is nicer to me than the lefties are? What does it say that the conservatives are nicer to me? It’s such a bizarre world. I’m such a lefty — I mean, I’m a serious lefty — but I understand why people on the right call them ‘godless.’ I didn’t think the left is as mean as the right. They are.”
Bolling discovered the comments that occurred during an interview with Williamson last week. He then had her appear again this week so she could discuss the comments with him.
During this weeks spot, Williamson said to the host, “What I was told was if I came on your show, you wouldn’t blast it out. And you just blasted it out, so I don’t even know where to go with that. The whole point of a hot mic is, you know — why did you just blast it out?”
She also slightly walked back the comments, claiming that many on the left are kind to her. Williamson did not qualify for tonight’s Democratic debate.
