Howard Dean knows about how important momentum is during the presidential nomination process. The former Vermont Governor was the odds on favorite to be the Democratic nominee in 2004. But after a weird screaming episode, voters turned on him, and John Kerry won the nomination.

These days, voters are willing to put up with much more. Donald Trump, of course, captured the Republican nomination despite the Access Hollywood tape and over 20 accusations of sexual misconduct. And Dean hopes that in 2024, Trump is again made the GOP’s standard-bearer.
The former DNC Chairman told Ari Melber, “He is incredibly divisive. He exhausts people, he’s in deep criminal trouble, and it’s going to take a long time apparently before that gets sorted out.” Dean continued, “I think his brand is wrecked.”
Dean also called out Ohio senate candidate JD Vance for being a fraud. “Well, JD Vance is a second-rate writer. He’s also a huckster; he and Josh Hawley, I’d put in the same category. A lot of BS, not much loyalty to the United States of America.”
