Hiker Made An Astounding Discovery on His Birthday Trek

He stopped moving gently. The wind was calm, and the never-ending sea of tree limbs were making a noise. However, in the midst of this tranquil forest sound came a faint wail that caused his eyebrows to move.

He was located in a place that was distant from people. Nonetheless, he decided to take a look around. His exploration did not take too long, and eventually he found himself in front of a stack of logs. Initially, he assumed they were actual trees. He was totally wrong.

Pieces of wood were scattered in the center of the woods. He assumed he was the only person there, yet he knelt to the ground, pondering who would choose to reside so far from civilization.

He heard a cry, louder than before, and it paralyzed him. He nearly ran away, but something made him stay. He had no clue he was about to uncover a mystery that had been left unsolved for seven months.

Luke Stewart was eager to take a jaunt through the dense woodland nearby his Washington state hometown.

As an ardent admirer of the natural world, he had dedicated many hours to investigating the seemingly infinite woods around him. Never in his wildest dreams could he have predicted what he would come across.

It all began on the memorable wet Friday morning. It was Luke's birthday and he chose to pass the day among the high tree cover and wet, waving green foliage.

He had his items put together and began the trek at around 10am, expecting to reach the outskirts of the woodland when the clock struck 12. However, the day concluded in a way he had not anticipated.

Luke wanted to do something straightforward. He was going to enter the woods at midday, walk on the same secret trails he used to when he was a youngster, and be back home in the evening.

He was equipped with a water bottle, hand protection, a raincoat, an extra layer of clothing for if the temperature dropped, and a can of bear repellent. He thought he'd be back in time for dinner, without realising his life would be altered for eternity.

The village of Luke was perpetually shrouded by rain, giving it a peaceful atmosphere. Everyone was familiar with each other, making it a comfortable environment. Parents had the pleasure of witnessing their children grow from infancy to adulthood, and these same children had offspring who would observe their own children mature.

It was a cozy spot with all the endearment of a quaint community, suitable for someone like Luke, who was enamored with the picturesque village feel. However, difficulties are usually not far away, even in such a pleasing piece of paradise.

It began seven months ago. Something terrible occurred in the town. Instantly, the not-so-well-known place known as Luke's town was known by the entire country.

Reporters from all across the United States flooded the area, each desperate to gain information about the current events. The future would forever be altered.

It was the peak of summertime when disaster struck. Seven year old Kelly Jackman had all of a sudden vanished. An announcement from the police exposed that her parents had recently dropped her off at her playmate's house nearby.

They arrived back after a quartet of hours to discover that she had left her comrade's dwelling, saying she was going toward her residence. Yet her mom and dad had not spotted her, even though they were in their house for the full four hours.

The only reminder they had of her was her rose-colored bicycle, which they spotted in the road between their residence and the neighbor's. The mom and dad were completely crushed.

Their Kelly never did anything without notifying them beforehand. Immediately, they contacted the police and initiated a city-wide hunt for their young princess. Unfortunately, matters were about to take a turn for the worse.

Luke was present with the Jackmans while they discussed the optimal approach to locate and return their daughter.

The entire community had gathered near the Jackman residence, talking about the issue with great earnestness. They desired to locate Kelly rapidly, not knowing it would take a few months before anyone could spot her again.

Despite the extensive efforts of the search parties, there was no sign of the girl. They were unable to uncover any clues to the whereabouts of Kelly. The young lady had seemingly disappeared without a trace.

For seven strenuous months, news of Kelly's whereabouts had been nowhere to be found. The town had not recovered from her vanishing, and the subject was still being discussed among the citizens. People made space in their agendas to scour the area for her whenever they had the chance.

Luke was in desperate need of a change of scenery. He had not been out of the house for a while and he felt like his mental state would deteriorate if he did not get to bask in the beauty of the outdoors soon.

Luke was excited to go on his hike as it always helped him to relax. He set off at midday, carrying all his necessary equipment and a full water bottle. As he entered the forest, he was wearing a big grin on his face.

After a half hour of walking, the trees had blocked out the stormy sky above. The environment was tranquil and serene, only disturbed by the faint chirps and squeaks from wildlife. Luke had no clue what lay ahead of him.

He had been walking on foot for three hours and realized he should take a brief break. A thin streak of moisture had collected on his forehead even though the woods were chilly. He wiped it off with the reverse side of his arm.

His body was already feeling the strain, his mouth parched and his lips cracked. It was evident he had not done this in a while. However, today would be unlike any of the numerous occasions he had been here.

Luke was so distant from any society that no one would be able to hear him even if he yelled as loud as he could. His journey had taken him deep into the woods, which were filled with only plants and shrubs.

He was admiring the beautiful view while he was seated, with a contented expression. He figured this trip had been beneficial. Yet, from the edge of his eye, he spotted something that caused him to rise.

Luke was lying down on top of a hill in the wooded area. He had a good look of the valley below and something in it caught his attention.

Luke was positive he was the only person in the woods, because rarely anyone ventured this far. However, upon seeing a neat stack of timber, he realized he was mistaken.

Luke rose from his bed, full of enthusiasm to uncover the secret. Despite his exhaustion, he realized he had to look into it. He raced down the hill, navigating his way through the many dense trees.

As he approached, the atmosphere around him became more and more unsettling. Despite the sun still being up, the area was already full of shadows and foreboding.

Luke edged closer to the forest, looking around at the trees and shrubs that were present, yet noticing that the usual colourful atmosphere of the forest was missing. He felt a chill in the air and couldn't help but feel a sense of unease as he walked further in.

He approached the mound of wood, noticing that somebody had chopped and organized them. Then, a peculiar sound reached his ears, giving him a chill.

Initially, Luke assumed the noise was just a creature. However, when he heard it a second time, he was able to distinguish it from the other animal noises he was familiar with.

The hiker approached the logs with a furrowed brow, trying to figure out the source of the sound that had a human, female quality. He was determined to locate the noise's origin.

Going nearer was beneficial because the noise reverberated through the atmosphere once more - more discernible this time. However, the tone, a drawn out yell, caused Luke to be petrified.

He shouted, "Hey!" Whoever was speaking was either in a bad way or exhausted. It sounded like it was a woman or young lady. Again, Luke shouted, "Hey?!" He had no idea what he was entering into. Suddenly, the cries ceased. 

Luke looked into the stack of wood. He was uncertain why it was here, but soon the weather deteriorated and he realized he should head back home.

Just as he was about to go, he stumbled across something that made him feel ill. He had to double back to make sure what he was seeing. 

Luke stopped in his tracks, completely taken aback. Could this be real? He felt a wave of nausea wash over him when he noticed it. He was desperate to escape and shout for assistance, yet who could he trust out in this rural area?

He understood that he had to act fast. His hands were shaking as he grabbed his phone and dialed the emergency services. He wished that he was not too late with his call.

The police responded to a plea from Luke, who was clearly in distress. He begged them to come as soon as possible, his voice trembling.

How much time had elapsed before the police officers got there? It was almost a half hour, yet eventually they showed up. They had no clue what awaited them.

When Officer Henry reached the hills, he was bewildered to see a cluster of logs and a distressed-looking Luke. "What is occurring here?" the officer questioned, his demeanor strict and commanding.

Luke approached Officer Henry, sobbing. He indicated the log stack and asked the officer,  "Can you see what I see?

Officer Henry advanced towards the stack of logs, and with each step he took, a sense of uneasiness began to spread up his back.

He had no idea why, but Officer Henry had a very bad feeling about these logs. When he got closer to them, he discovered something that made him feel very sick in the stomach.

From afar, the logs appeared to be in a precise pattern: a neat heap of logs. But when Officer Henry took a closer look, he was suspicious of its exact rectangular shape and dark lines.

He was overcome with dread when he understood what was before him. His stomach churned at the thought of what the stack of lumber signified. He had to fight back the urge to vomit.

The peculiar stripes on the heap of timber turned out to be windows! What he assumed was an accumulation of logs was actually a hidden retreat, not a haphazard heap of logs.

Officer Henry and Luke were appalled when they peered inside the concealed dwelling. What was concealed in there that had to remain out of sight?

Within the hidden hideaway, a bed, shelf, and a mini bathroom could be found. There were also a variety of tinned foods and printed materials. All of a sudden, a youthful female appeared from the corner.

Officer Henry cried out in shock, catching sight of the juvenile female. He peered more intently at the girl and eventually recognized her. He was dumbstruck.

The unknown female turned out to be Kelly, an eleven-year-old who had disappeared seven months prior. Officer Henry was shocked at the revelation. What was she doing here?

The girl was clearly frightened, yet still managed to converse with the officer and Luke. The officer was aware he had to contact help and make sure the girl was in a safe place. However, was it already too late?

Officer Henry got help and brought the confused Kelly to the police station for inquiry. Kelly declared that someone had seized her and confined her in a hidden hut.

Despite their efforts, the police were unable to determine what occurred. Fortunately, Kelly was returned home in one piece and the investigation is still going on.
