Donald Trump was able to win in 2016, in part, because of his overwhelming support in cattle country. So it is no surprise that a group quickly former called Cowboys for Trump.
The group was started by Cuoy Griffin who also adheres to the QAnon conspiracy theory. And at a QAnon conference this weekend, Griffin said that he was no longer supporting former President Donald Trump.
The Conservative activist, who was arrested for his actions on January 6th, explained, “We supported President Trump for his fight for justice as well. And for four years we cried ‘lock her up. Lock her up. Lock her up.’ We know she’s a criminal. What did the president tell us? ‘If I was in charge, you’d be in jail.”
Griffin continued, “Ok, Mr. President, you’ve been in charge of the law for four years. At the end of your four year time, the only ones locked up were men like me, and others like me, that have stood by the president the strongest.”
Bombastic statements are kind of normal for the Cowboys for Trump founder. Back in June, he told CNN’s Drew Griffin, “I’m not even so sure that Officer Sicknick’s even dead. I’m serious. That’s, that’s how–and I hate to be so crazy conspiracy-minded. I’m not even so sure Ashli Babbitt is dead. I mean, who’s to say that was–have you seen anything of any of her family?”
