When you fall in love, you expect that it will last forever. You expect that it is a fairytale that will culminate in lifelong love, kids, grandkids, and a whole dynasty that’s a product of your mutual love. Sounds nice right?
Unfortunately, the cold reality is that sometimes it doesn’t. Sometimes, things go down a cold hard path that ends in heartbreak and pain due to your partner's betrayal. Read these 40+ stories that detail a love that was cut short, this time, due to cheating, infidelity, and cold hard betrayals.
1. I dodged a bullet
I doubt I'll ever get the truth on it, but my ex (we were together 6 years, engaged for a year and a half) went on a work trip to Vegas, we were 8 months away from our wedding, and half of it was paid for (venue, videographer, photographer, flowers, catering all had deposited, dress was bought and paid for)
When she got back from the trip she said "I don't love you anymore." Kicked me out of the apartment and had a new guy move in 3 weeks later and got engaged to him a few months ago (about a year and a half after the split). Either she had been cheating for a while or thinking about it or both. Either way, it was the best thing that ever happened to me, while simultaneously being the most painful thing I've ever experienced.
I'm MUCH better off now and MUCH happier and healthier as well. I'm finally over it (almost 2 years later) although she hurt me.

2. She thought it was a joke
I was dating a woman and we met her lifelong friend and her husband. They seemed like really nice people and he seemed a very average guy (whatever that means).
He came home from work one day and told her he didn't love her anymore, and he was having an affair and wanted her out of the house. (belonged to his mother) She took it as a joke at first.
She ended up at her parents in hysterics. She left her car running in the middle of the street with the door open and could not recall the trip to their house. Now ex-husband married a few months later. But, she got over it and far as I know ended up marrying better.

3. “Well this is awkward”
I went to the gym with no headphones! The house was 5 minutes away. I pulled up and saw my work buddy's car out front and I walked into the house through the open garage.
My son was coloring at the kitchen table. Ask him “Hey bud where’s your mom?”. He pointed at the stairs and I walked to the stairs and heard sounds and movement. Up to this point I had suspected but never had proof. I knew I had to go look and catch her or she would say I was overreacting and tell me it wasn’t what I thought.
I walked upstairs and heard them in the spare bedroom, walked into the room, and I said “Well this is awkward”. They freaked out and tried to grab clothes and tell me nothing was happening. I walked out to the car and had my ex-buddy chase me out and tell me to hit him.
I go to my command ( I’m in the military) the next day. Report him and have the command force him to call his wife that day and let her know. I am now divorced and much happier!

4. A dozen of roses
20ish years ago I caught my ex in bed with another guy on Valentine's Day. I had a dozen roses in my hand. Fighting would get you kicked out of college, so I told the much smaller guy once I saw him off campus, I'd kill him.
Fifteen years and worlds later, I'm at an engagement party at a bar, and some friends come up and tell me the guy over there is scared of me and thinks I'm going to kill him. I looked over and couldn't stop laughing. It was so far in the past, but for some reason, that guy remembered it like I had sworn an oath to avenge my family. It felt good. His fear was redemption enough.

5. Gas station toilet
I caught my ex when we were both standing in the examining room, getting his “treatment." Doc came in and said he had an incurable disease. He lied for a whole 2-3 months I imagine. Even lied about how he got it and tried convincing me he swiped in some mystery fluids in a gas station toilet.
When he realized I wasn't stupid, he tried to drink random bottles on the doctor's shelf. He started hitting himself. He fell on his knees sobbing and tried grabbing my hands and begging for me not to leave.
He threatened murder-suicide that entire night and assaulted me for close to 9 hours when I was trying to pack my bags to leave. He choked me in the driveway.
I just spoke at his sentencing this Thursday. He is a convicted felon now. I hope he's grown from this.

6. Two birds with one stone
We went out to lunch, my girlfriend wasn’t even able to hold a conversation. I had to repeat myself multiple times because she was so enticed by whatever hilarious thing she was reading. Asked her what was so funny and she just kept saying nothing.
As I was on my way to drop her off at her place, her phone, sitting in the cupholder, started ringing. The number wasn’t registered in her contacts. I went to answer it expecting a telemarketer or someone who simply had the wrong number with the intent of messing with them to have some fun. I went to grab the phone, granted she never had a problem with me answering calls like that before, she even found it entertaining.
She attacked me, started screaming at me, and ripped the phone from my hand. We didn’t speak for the rest of the ride, needless to say, it was obvious what was going on. Shame. Turns out it was my only friend at the time. Lost two people I thought I could trust that day.

7. Girls night out
My ex-girlfriend was laughing at her phone, and I asked what was so funny, but she said nothing.
I missed so many red flags though. She was paranoid I'd cheat, which I thought was funny. Girls night out pretty often - a couple of times I asked a friend about the night, but I always seemed to find the one who didn't make it.
After we were functionally done (but hadn't accepted it and split yet), I got an anonymous revenge email from someone she'd seen and dumped. Hurt to see it confirmed, but I knew by that point. The email said he wasn't the first.
I just hope it was only at the end.

8. The honeymoon phase is over!
I caught my ex-husband cheating. It was only a few weeks after our wedding. I checked his phone, which I would normally never do but I knew something was going on, and saw that he was asking his coworker for dirty pictures (and she was sending them).
When I confronted him he tried to say that he was doing it for me because he knew I wanted a threesome. I never told him I wanted a threesome.

9. Not so Merry Christmas
My fiancé left me two days before Christmas. She told me she needed to move out and get space. She said she was moving to her friend's house. This went on for a week, until, because we have a family Apple plan. I looked up her location. And she was not at her friend's house...
I'm now a single dad of a one-year-old and she's moving out west with him.
Merry Christmas.

10. Crazy mum
I'm a live-in nanny, the parents are going through a particularly nasty divorce but she decided that she didn't care anymore, and started bringing this dude she's been sleeping with over to the house, sometimes even while the Dad is home.
She says "They are just friends", but I've caught them making out on several occasions. She says, of course, that "he kissed her", and "she didn't want it". Really Amanda? Then why did I watch you go sit down on his lap and stick your tongue down his throat? She's also encouraged the kids (while the Dad isn't home) to call this new guy "daddy".
Thankfully the Dad has finally realized just how crazy she is and is getting a divorce, but as this is all pretty recent, we haven't found a place yet. Thank God he's going for full custody, and that the kids are still really young (and that I'm going with him and the kids). It terrifies me what those kids are going to have to deal with in their lives because she is their mom.
She is incredibly selfish, and I hope all this karma comes back to bite her.

11. Her girl-best friend
I fell for this girl who thought was everything and 6 months later she told me she did something bad, she cheated on me. I assumed it was her best guy friend or her ex-bf or someone in my grade!! But nope it was her best girlfriend.
They have been fooling around since we got together on the side. It hurt the first months but looking back I think it's hilarious.

12. "Who's Marissa?"
I caught my boyfriend of two years. He had asked me to proofread his paper on his laptop and the text messenger popped up in the right hand. He was sitting in his bed texting some girl "Goodnight I love you" while sitting right next to me in his bed.
I deleted his entire paper, wrote "Who's Marissa?" and saved it. I told him it looked great and left. She was his girlfriend of 8 years who lived next to his parents 2 hours away.

13. +1 for Google Maps
I signed into my wife’s Google Account to check her emails. She forgot her password so she asked me to reset it for her. After resetting the password, I checked her Google Maps history and her most recent visits were at my best friend's house while I was away for work.
She had never told me she would be going to his house.
I am really grateful for Google Maps because it opened my eyes.

14. I thought I was having a heart attack
Not me but my wife. We started getting distant from each other and we had planned a trip to see my grandparents who live a few states away.
A month before the planned trip she told me that she wanted to cancel it and go to a family reunion on her side of the family in a completely different state and that she wanted to go alone and not bring out kids. I thought it was weird because wouldn’t you want to introduce your kids to family they never see?? Like I said we were growing distant so I just said ok fine go. Maybe the time apart will be good for us.
She came back and suddenly wanted to move across the county to “go work at a hospital job that her distant aunt had offered her.” Didn’t even ask me if I was willing to go. I told her “You do whatever it is you need to do to be you, but you’re not taking the kids.”
After a few days, she realized that she couldn’t leave and not see the kids so she begged me to forgive her. I did.
Over the next month, we became more distant than we were before all this had happened. I took lunch at work and decided to go home for it (which I never do). Also when I got home there was nobody home so I decided to go through her computer (which I also never do). Found pictures of her with some guy she had met on zynga poker who lived guess where....the state that her supposed family reunion was!!
I’ve never had a panic attack until this day. I had to call my neighbor and have him sit with me because I legit thought I was having a heart attack.
Took pictures of everything I found, other pictures, emails, and Facebook messages. I waited until the kids were in bed ( I refuse to fight and scream in front of them) and laid all my pictures out there for her to see.
Not a fun day.

15. It broke me
I discovered my high school girlfriend was cheating on me. She told me on my birthday.
My ex-girlfriend cheated on me while I was in basic training. I was allowed to call on my birthday. Being madly in love, I used it to call my girlfriend who was pregnant with our daughter. I remember the conversation as if it were yesterday.
Her: Hello
Me: Hey babe, I miss you, how are you doing?
Her: OK, I have someone who wants to talk to you.
New boyfriend: Hey man, don't worry about her, I am taking good care of her.
Me: Oh, okay. May I talk to her?
New boyfriend: Sure, here she is.
Her: What?
Me: This is crazy. (Slamming down the receiver for the pay phone.)
Apparently, I echoed. I received a letter from her that day with her telling me she had a miscarriage. Which later, found to be a lie.

16. Working late
My best friend's first wife had a big career-type job and was seriously type A. She started "working late" till 11 pm. He is a very bright guy but couldn't see it until I pointed out that no one regularly works from 8 am to 11 pm.
Turns out she was having an affair with the Chief Operating Officer while she was in charge of Human Resources. And yes, the huge company had a no-fraternizing policy. And yes, the company was in the process of being bought. And yes, the chairman was aware of the affair. But the guy's wife wasn't.
The affair somehow could have scuttled the sale and everyone who was going to get rich was going to be left in the cold. So everyone found out about it.
My friend's divorce lawyer suggested an alienation of affection lawsuit. They are legal here.
The dude ended up paying my buddy $75,000.00.

17. Room Service
We went out and when the bar closed I decided it was time for me to go home. She and a few friends decided to go clubbing. The next morning I woke up in an empty bed. Directly to voice mail when I tried to call her. Started to worry and decided to track her phone. It was located in a hotel, I called and asked for her room. I was transferred to the room and a guy picked me up.
I'm still recovering from it and the fact that we share the same friends (we all met in college) and that I get to see her every now and then doesn't help at all.
BeatiSpirituPoperes
18. Out of context
Back in the day, Snapchat used to tell you the top three friends if any of your friends. I saw that I was number one, her best friend was number three, and some dude co-worker was number two.
I later logged into her Voxer account and was able to hear conversations between her and said dude where she'd say things like she can't wait to run her handa through his hair and then the pinnacle when he asked her if his jizz tasted different after drinking pineapple monster energy drink. She said she doesn't usually taste it and just swallows it and that she'll have to pay more attention next time.
I confronted her and she's telling me I'm taking it out of context.

19. Blessing in disguise
My ex-fiance and I lived together and worked weird hours, she worked at a drug store, and I was a barista. She had been hanging out with her boss a lot lately, mostly just stuff at work and going out in groups.
One day I got sent home early and wanted to surprise her. Bought dinner and flowers. Walked into our room and saw him on top of my ex. Just stared at him and said, "That's not me in our bed."
She left me for him, in which she cheated on him with her now husband. Worked out great for me. I lost over 100 lbs, I'm starting Grad School, and I married the most amazing woman.

20. All I needed was proof
I knew my fiance had cheated on me, knew the night it happened, but she kept lying to me and I knew it was going to continue. I ended up confirming it by going through her IMs on her laptop.
I knew it was over the moment I violated that trust, but at least I walked away knowing I had been faithful. Bonus point due to the fact that the IM that exposed her was the new guy apologizing for lasting less than two minutes in bed. They ended up getting married and divorced.

21. Good Riddance
She was cheating on me with her ex, who was the brother of a friend of mine. We had moved from Missouri to Texas and we were back in Missouri for a visit when my friend asked, "So, how cool are you with Jacob living in Houston now?"
Her eyes got really big, "Oh, I didn't tell you? Yeah, he's down there, but we never really talk."
I was dumb enough to let it go. Then, she didn't come home one night and her ex posted a picture of them "back together again" to brag. He also sent me a message detailing how long it had been going on.
About a week later, he couldn't find her. He calls me thinking that I'd seriously take her back. Turns out that she had met some bouncer at a bar and had started banging that guy. The ex messages me because he "doesn't know what to do". I told him that I wasn't his therapist and blocked him.
She later married the bouncer. Good riddance. Who knows what happened to her ex. His brother (my friend) disowned him after he got drunk at the brother's house, tore off his front door in a rage, and threatened his family.
My career took off and I now live a drama-free life.

22. A trip to Europe
Lost my job (company closing) and my wife freaked out. Said she needed a good long vacation to clear her head. She wanted to go by herself and got her parents to buy her a ticket to go to Europe for a month. I fully supported her and said, “Go, it’ll be good to just spend some time by yourself and soul search”. I’m sure you’ll feel better after you decompress.
Things got a little worse between us while waiting for the trip to happen, so I figured she needed more space sooner so I started staying in our guest room apartment above the garage.
Come into the house one day while she’s at work and notice a new webcam on her computer. I started the computer and looked in her email to find that she was going to be meeting some guy in Europe. They’ve been trading naked pics and writing romance scripts about their first sexual encounter. The scripts end in ritualistic vows of marriage including cutting each other’s fingers and signing a love contract in blood.
All this time she was just saying she needed time off and to find herself, but now I know she’s planning on cheating on me when she goes to Europe and worse. She’s not even a shadow of the woman I thought I was married to.
I’ve hired a divorce lawyer and am moving forward with dissolving all ties with her. I don’t want her back at all. We’ve been married eight years and I’ve been the most loving devoted husband possible to her and now this. I’m going to need some therapy after this because I’m scared I can’t trust anyone ever again.

23. Go back to your mom’s house
I came back Into town a day early and went to surprise my husband at work. I found him being intimate with another secretary (he was also a secretary). He didn’t see me so I took a quick photo and snuck back out.
I went home and called my friends and family. They came over and helped me pack up all his things and change the locks. I dumped his stuff at his mom's house. I sent him the picture of him and the chick and informed him that he and his belongings now reside with his mother again.

24. Polygamous woman
I met this great girl at a non-profit thing I occasionally do and we clicked. We started spending some time together and things moved pretty quickly. After dating for almost 5 months, we took a 4-day vacation to Colorado.
She got a couple of phone calls from "work", but they were in the evening and she stepped out to take them. I didn't hear it in context, but I swear I heard her say to the other person that she loved them. I was convinced she was cheating on me.
On the last day of the trip, I snagged her phone while she was in the shower. She was married. She had a kid. I was the other guy. I took her phone, drove a few blocks, sat for like 30 minutes feeling ill, then called her husband and explained everything.
He was understandably furious and hurt. He thought she was on a business trip. By the end of the conversation, we agreed that I just needed to buy her a bus ticket home and leave. That's exactly what I did.
I walked into our hotel room, handed her the ticket and her phone, told her that her husband would pick her up at the bus station, packed my things, checked out, and left. She cried and tried to play the victim but she knew she had been found out.
It sucked. I suspected nothing before that trip. She seemed like such a great girl.

25. Who’s responsible for the pregnancy
My ex-girlfriend confessed cheating to on me. She loved attention and told me her older brother's best friend raped her. I was infuriated at the guy and extremely upset. Worrying about her well-being and all.
We were 17 at the time and she was living with her mother. Naturally, I wanted to tell her mom and she was like “No you can’t” and I was like “Why” and I kept on because I really had no idea why she wouldn’t want to let her mother know and keep the rapist out of their house.
I guess she didn’t want her mother to know because she just came out and said it was consensual. She just liked the attention and how devastated it made me that she was raped ?? Idk. I then found out about several other guys she cheated on me with throughout our relationship. After all this, she tried to tell me she was pregnant.
To this day, I find it hard to trust women. She trusted her and she took advantage of me.

26. I am off the market
I lost my virginity to a girl I met online. Weeks later she let slip that she was in fact married. I was absolutely terrified and, equipped with her full name, decided to track down her husband and to call him.
It took me many hours and many embarrassing calls until I finally found him and when I did, nearly backed out for fear of him coming after me. He sounded absolutely devastated but also strangely calm... like he'd already known somehow. I've never heard from them again.
Later, in my one and only relationship, my girlfriend cheated on me with one of her teachers (mind you both were adults at the time). Well, I say cheated... She said that it wasn't cheating because she wanted to break up with me anyway.
As you see, so far I'm two for two... and, partly because of this, I don't think that I want to have another relationship.

27. Be decent enough to end it
I looked at her laptop and saw she was messaging her mother about this guy she was on a date with. She also messaged her friend about how perfect he was and the size of his manhood.
She was supposedly at her friend's but never came home that night. We were together for 4 and a half years and she couldn't be decent and break up. It is okay for people to fall out of love but after so long just be kind enough to end it well.

28. I am still recovering
My first girlfriend cheated on me. She left to go to a party, but I couldn't go because I had some school assignments that I needed to work on. So I kissed her and said, "Have fun, be safe!"
She later called me and said she had been in bed and intimate with two guys. She was not calling because she felt bad but because it was so fun and she was dumping me.
I'm still recovering from that one. I will definitely take time because I was down for this girl.

29. Toxic workplace
I worked with a guy who took a two-week vacation to China with his sister.
When he returned home his girlfriend (that he had lived with and worked with for 10 or 15 years) told him that while he was away she had been intimate with two guys and it was "the best she'd ever had" and that she was leaving him to move in with these two guys.
They continued to work at the same place, and the "two guys" would come and pick her up every night as work ended. This guy hated coming to work.

30. She took it too far
A friend of mine (a guy) went on a trip to Spain with some buddies, it had been planned for 6 months. His girlfriend of 4 months didn't want him to leave but he insisted and went.
When he came back, he got a call from a random dude that went something like "Dude I am so sorry, I slept with your girlfriend at this party. I swear I didn't know she had a boyfriend before she added me on Facebook the day after."
Apparently, she had slept with 3 guys at different parties the week he was gone, because "he had no reason to just go away when he was with me"

31. Lesson Learnt
I got off work early one day, and my girlfriend and I were growing distant. I wanted to do something nice, so I got some sunflowers to surprise her at work.
There she was outside, sitting on this dude's lap with his arms around her. The dude just walked away and she flipped out.
I forgave her and about a year later, the same thing happened. This time, I looked through her phone and badda bing; she had videos of herself being intimate with two guys.
Should have learned my lesson the first time.

32. My life was never the same again
I came clean to my wife. My cheating consisted of becoming friends with someone I was attracted to and realizing things felt quite inappropriate a lot of the time. We didn't make out, get intimate, or anything. I just knew that I wanted to, and we hung out together a lot. When I came clean it was quite selfish. I felt like I was looking for help rather than admitting a wrongdoing.
My wife and I had been growing apart for a while. We got divorced. This was several years ago and I still get horrible pangs of guilt. My ex-wife didn't deserve what I put her through.
Since that time I've felt a lot more cynical about relationships. I don't really feel like having romantic ones. Being a great husband or partner was a defining part of me....and then it went. To this day I'm working on feeling like I'm a good person once again.

33. Rob beat you to it
I had been working out of province for about 6 months when I got a phone call, on my lunch break, from some guy claiming that we were dating the same girl. I asked how long he had been seeing her and he said 7 months or so, I had been with her for almost 2 years at this point.
She calls me almost immediately after telling me some Rob guy is gonna call me and he is crazy etc. I went back to work for the day, basically numb to the world. Too bad Rob beat you to it sweetheart and what reason does he have to lie?
It was a painful and long ending after that with way too much forgiveness involved.

34. Get out of my car
I picked up my girlfriend from her house and she was pretty drunk (unusual because she was home alone), but I didn't care. I came in for a few before she was actually ready to go.
I found my friend's phone on her dresser in her room. I asked her about it and she gets really defensive and it's super obvious what happened. She manages to wait until we get in the car to further this discussion. She admitted it in the car that he came over, but they didn’t do much.
I knew she was lying and when I got mad she started to say as many hurtful things as she could think of, then later she told me that they did a lot more and she started talking about how hard she was going to be intimate with him when he gets back to her house.
I was so mad I pulled over, opened her door, pushed her out, and sped off.

35. Honesty is the best policy
My dad was caught cheating on my mom. My mom would do interior painting occasionally for extra money and my dad would come when he was in town. He had to travel a lot for work and was gone about 2-3 weeks a month. On this day my dad was in town and my mom needed help finishing the house she was at so she brought my dad along.
My mom really didn’t trust him so she took his phone when he wasn’t looking and went through it. Of course, he has a girlfriend. So my mom decided to ask him if there was anyone else and if he came clean she would stay with him and work it out.
He decided to lie about it and denied having a girlfriend. My mom said she knew about the other woman and sent my dad away to stay at a hotel. That 2-3 weeks of travel a month for work wasn’t accurate, it was only 1-2 for work, the rest was to see the other woman.
And that is how you can perfectly crash and burn a 24-year marriage

36. Who is the loser now
I wasn’t the cheater but my ex started to change in her behaviour. Going out a lot more and dressing up a lot more. She was also on her phone a lot more. She took it to shower, to the bathroom and just wouldn’t put it down. Every time I heard a giggle, she said it was something on FB she found funny.
One evening she came back after a night out and was talking about her evening with her friends and her story and timings just didn’t match up. The next morning, she jumped in the shower and left her phone on the side. I went through her phone and it confirmed my suspicions.
There were messages from a guy, explicit photos exchanged via messages, photos of them being intimate, and messages about me and how much of a “loser” I was.
I kicked her out

37. She was cheating the whole time
I noticed how she was taking phone calls in the other room pretty often. I mean, I've had my pinky in her butt, what could she possibly be embarrassed to talk about in front of me.
Then she claimed to have been raped when she ditched me in the middle of a phone conversation and showed up the following day covered in hickies. It became super obvious that I had been played when she brought me to her college town and didn't introduce me as her boyfriend to a single person.
I'm not proud of this part, but then I hacked into her Facebook account. There were incriminating messages to her ex-bf, not to mention the internet stranger she had been having an emotional affair with throughout our entire 2-year relationship.
During a couple of months of "trying to work it out" (the worst mistake of my life), I discovered that there was a third guy in college who she was basically dating. I finally broke up with her for good and she started dating yet another guy the very same day.

38. The Messenger
A girl I knew but had not talked to for 4-5 years texted me out of the blue asking to come by and talk, saying it had to be in person. I was kinda confused and was like sure...?
She came by and proceeded to show me messages from a guy friend of hers who was venting about some girl who has been "leading" him on with the promise of breaking up with her boyfriend to be with him, but "she" keeps putting it off.
It was my girlfriend he was venting about. Broke up with her immediately It was quite the conversation.

39. At the party
My girlfriend was at a party with people I knew while I stayed home that night.
She told me to pick her up around midnight, at midnight I texted her and got some weird replies that didn't seem like how she texted. Saying that she wasn't coming home, and how I was crazy or something like that.
I knew the guy's house it was at and I showed up asking where she was. The guy said she wasn't there anymore. The next day she told me she slept with one of my best friends at that party and the kid was the one texting me and talking to me over the phone.
Needless to say, we're not together and that kid is no longer my friend.

40. Poverty over lies
My boyfriend of nearly 6 years was cheating on me. I was cleaning up the files on our shared computer, renaming, decluttering, etc. when I noticed a very large discrepancy between the files I have, and the space they appear to be taking up.
I did a quick Google to remind myself of how to "unhide" files, and TAH DAH!!! a smorgasbord of filthy conversations, pictures, and videos, arrangements to meet, and an unending buffet of betrayal, spanning our entire relationship.
It took hours but I read every single word and looked at every picture, it was like dying from countless papercuts. I sat with it for a long time, months. I was stuck, as he'd made very sure to have complete control over my finances early on - I'd put myself in this position.
Eventually, I just made the break and opted for temporary poverty over his lies.

41. We both suffered
My girlfriend noticed I wasn’t as attentive to her. She knew my passwords and went into my laptop and went on Facebook and found everything with one of my exes. The only time I ever cheated. The look in her eyes made my soul crush. After she moved home, I cried for weeks on end. Nightmares about that look. I still sometimes have a nightmare dream where I relive that moment.
She’ll never know that we both suffered for what I did. And she doesn’t need to know. She has a dull but stable guy now, and they’re engaged. Meanwhile, I’m still single six years later because boy did I fall for it with the next one.

42. Her loss
I wasn’t the cheater, but I caught my very first girlfriend ever cheating on me. She had me added on Instagram, but she never posted photos of me. It never sat easily with me because she had a very strong social media presence, but whatever.
A month later she was sitting in my lap texting someone, and I happened to glance over her shoulder at her phone. She freaked out on me for ‘invading her privacy’ and stormed off and didn’t talk to me for the rest of the day.
I logged onto Instagram that night and saw that she had a second account that showed up under recommended or whatever. I went to her profile, and as it turns out, in the one month we were together she had cheated on me with not one, not two, but three other boys.
I dumped her and confronted her about it, she threatened to out me to my family (I’m trans and was not yet out, and my parents also did not know I was dating a girl at the time)
It sucked, and really screwed up my views on dating for a long time (she was literally my first everything) but oh well. Her loss.

43. Recorded tape
I suspected it at a dinner party. I had just gotten a potential review at work, for a promotion. I go to the party and see my wife flirting with Jonas. Jonas is that hotshot, know-it-all guy. I noticed every time he opened his mouth, my wife made googly eyes at him. Very strange.
I questioned her about it at home. She says they had a short fling. I later came to find out "short" was 6 months. I know she's hiding something so I keep pressing her but she won't budge.
I give Jonas a visit and interrogate him. It gets fisty and I find out he's kept a recording of his encounter with my wife, only, I notice, it's a recent tape. It was when I went on my business trip.

44. Checked out for good
I found out that my girlfriend at the time had cheated on me while I was out of the country. The guy's new girlfriend asked me, at a party, how I got over the fact that she'd cheated. Except I didn't know about it when she asked me. So I confronted my girlfriend and the guy that night and it turned out to be true.
Anyway, the stupid younger me decided the relationship was worth salvaging. Months later she's becoming friendly with a mutual guy friend again. I get suspicious. When she's in the shower I jailbreak her iPhone and install one of those silent/hidden text messaging apps.
Over a few weeks, I watched every text she sent the guy and her friend talking about the said guy. At the same time, my girlfriend had convinced me to go to a counselor with her. When we were in the counselor's office, I confronted her with a printed transcript of the texts she had sent. She still tried denying it. I felt bad for the counselor though. It had to be awkward.
I realized I had made a mistake by giving her a second so this time I left for good.

45. Room Service
I was about 10 years old, and my sister was 16. My father was a tourist guide, so he usually spent many nights in hotels with the tourists when they went to visit other towns. My sister, mother, and I went for a girl's night and we realized we were close to where my father was staying.
We called him on the phone to tell him good night and then we went to his room and said "room service" like in the movies. Then, my father opens the door in his underwear and there is a naked woman on the bed. I remember that I didn't really understand at first why my mom took me by the hand and didn't let me even say hello to my father.
That experience ruined my idea of marriage to this day
