Donald Trump lost the 2020 presidential election. Not only did he lose, the race didn’t end up being particularly close with Joe Biden earning 5 million more votes and finishing with 306 electoral votes. Still, Trump is still working through the emotions of the devastating loss.
On Thursday, Trump held a press conference to discuss the COVID-19 epidemic. He had to stop himself at one point when he began to refer to the incoming administration. And during a Sunday morning tweetstorm, Trump actually wrote out the words, “he won.”
Trump was replying to a video sent out by Fox News personality Jesse Watters. Watters wrote, “There’s something that just doesn’t feel right about this. Joe Biden didn’t earn it, he didn’t really even campaign. He thought was going to lose, you could see it. He ran a losing campaign. So 10 days after the election, how’s he ahead?”
The president responded to this tweet, “He won because the Election was Rigged. NO VOTE WATCHERS OR OBSERVERS allowed, vote tabulated by a Radical Left privately owned company, Dominion, with a bad reputation & bum equipment that couldn’t even qualify for Texas (which I won by a lot!), the Fake & Silent Media, & more!”
The line, “he won”, certainly stood out in the message chock full of election falsehoods. Not surprisingly, Twitter flagged the message for containing disputed information.
