“He Went to the Dark Side After McCain Died” Harry Reid Rips Former Colleague Lindsey Graham
Lindsey Graham goes into Tuesday night with plenty of anxiety. After years of winning his seat with essentially no challenge, he is now going up against Jaime Harrison. And Harrison has given him an incredibly tough race with the election now looking like a toss-up.
Graham was once thought of as a centrist who could work with colleagues along the aisle. That has changed, however, in the age of Donald Trump. Harry Reid, who worked regularly with Graham as the Democratic Senate Majority Leader blasted the South Carolina senator saying that he hoped he loses.
Reid made the comment during an interview with Ayman Mohyeldin. He told the MSNBC host, “It’s very hard for me to say this because Lindsey and I have worked together on stuff. And when John McCain died, he just went to the dark side.”
The former Nevada senator continued, “I hope that Lindsey loses. That’s difficult for me to say, but I sure hope he loses.”
Graham has had a very tough reelection campaign. He has repeatedly been forced to beg for donations during every Fox News appearance. He said of his opponent Harrison in late September, “He raised $6 million from the time Justice Ginsburg passed away, within 72 hours. And God bless Justice Ginsburg, we’re celebrating her life. I appreciate waiting until Saturday to announce the replacement. But I am being killed financially. This money is because they hate my guts.”
