“He Was Making Fun of Me For Beach Photo: Chris Christie Has no Sympathy For Ted Cruz
Most politicians experience some kind of scandal during their time in office. Some are their own fault and some are manufactured by the media. Texas’ Ted Cruz has a special talent for creating his own issues.
This week, Cruz felt the need to fly off to a tropical paradise while people in his own state were suffering. Condemnation for his choice came swiftly and from both sides of the aisle. Chris Christie, one the governor of New Jersey, is no stranger to scandal himself. Still, Christie said he has no sympathy for the senator.
Christie made the comments during an appearance on Guy Benson’s radio show. He told the host:
“Listen, I have I have sympathy for anyone in public life with a family who faces those kind of really difficult decisions on a regular basis, and I face them a couple of times when I was governor. And I made mistakes at times because I was thinking more like a father than about the full-time job that I had. So I have sympathy in that. But I will tell you that, you know, it’s hard to have sympathy for Ted Cruz because, you know, Ted was right on board making fun of me back in 2017 when I had that incident on the beach. And that’s why I think you’re seeing piling on.”
