During a recent appearance on MSNBC former George W. Bush strategist Matthew Dowd said that Trump complaining about the polls is a sure sign he knows he's losing.
Donald Trump is obsessed with any kind of ranking. He frequently uses ratings to bash those in the media he feels aren't in their corner. And he regularly talks about where he would rank among all of the former United States presidents.
Of course, Trump also loves polls. But he only loves those polls that show him winning. If those polls show him losing, he has a much different opinion.
While speaking with MSNBC, Dowd remarked, "Anytime Donald Trump is attacking the polls, then you know he’s in trouble, as that’s the clear signal every time he does that. Because every other time he hawks the polls, says, ‘here’s how great I am, I’m ahead in everything.’ And now he’s attacking the polls, including Fox News, which is kind of amazing."
The former GOP strategist continued, "What is more likely to happen is of those seven states, that the Harris-Walz campaign is more likely to put away some of those other states, maybe in the Midwest before Donald Trump can recapture some of the Southern or Southwestern states that he has, and that puts him in tremendous difficulty.”
