GOP Senator Pat Toomey: Trump Has Descended Into Madness Since Election
In the last 4 years, only a handful of Republican senators could be counted on to speak out when Trump did something wrong. Mitt Romney and Lisa Murkowski were regular critics. Susan Collins would say she was concerned, but would then do nothing. Near the end of Trump’s term, Ben Sasse attacked the President fairly frequently.

For the most part, though, most GOP lawmakers remained silent. Since the election, however, Pat Toomey has emerged as a critic of Trump. And the Pennsylvania lawmaker has spent the weekend talking about the President. During a Sunday appearance on CNN, Toomey claimed that Trump has “descended into madness.”
The Republican began by telling host Jake Tapper that Trump should resign, “I think at this point, with just a few days left, it’s the best path forward to get this person in the rearview mirror.”
Toomey also weighed in on Trump’s behavior since the election. “The president’s behavior after the election was wildly different than his behavior before,” he remarked. “He descended into a level of madness and engaged in a level of activity that was just absolutely unthinkable”

These comments come on the heels of ones made yesterday by Toomey where he said that Trump has committed impeachable offenses.
