During the second impeachment trial of Donald Trump, 17 Republicans voted to impeach or convict him. Some of those lawmakers were protected by looming retirements, but others will be facing elections in the future. And Donald Trump has signaled that he is going to make life miserable for those people.

Trump’s attempts at revenge, of course, will create headaches for a Republican party trying to regain and majority in both the House and Senate. That is not going to stop the 45th president from trying to sabotage the party. This weekend, GOP senator defended Liz Cheney and Lisa Murkowski from Trump’s slams.
Trump said this weekend, “I will not be endorsing, under any circumstances, the failed candidate from the great State of Alaska, Lisa Murkowski. She represents her state badly and her country even worse. I do not know where other people will be next year, but I know where I will be.”
Barrasso was asked about that statement by NBC’s Chuck Todd. “I want to always make sure we nominate somebody who can win in November,” he responded. “Lisa Murkowski knows Alaska better than anybody, and she’s an incredible fighter for American energy. She hasn’t made an announcement if she’s even going to run again. If she does, I’m going to support her.”
ICYMI on #MTP: @SenJohnBarrasso says he supports the reelection of Sen. Lisa Murkowski and Rep. Liz Cheney despite former Pres. Trump’s opposition.

The Wyoming senator also defended Liz Cheney. He told Todd, “With regard to Liz Cheney in Wyoming, we work closely together fighting the Biden administration. So, I support her. I disagree with her completely on the issue of impeachment. She voted one way. I voted the other.’
