GOP Rep. Gohmert Refused to Wear a Mask. Now he has Covid-19
Louie Gohmert is a pretty well known member of the House of Representatives for all the wrong reasons. The bombastic Texas congressman is a big fan of the Trump administration and is typically antagonistic towards any Liberal who appears before the House. When former Bush administration member Donald Ayer testified before congress in June, Gohmert repeatedly tapped at his desk to try to drown out Ayer’s answers.
The Texas congressman has also been fiercely anti-mask despite being an 66 year-old man. The anti face-covering stance has come back to bite Gohmert as he has tested positive for Covid-19.
Last month, Gohmert told CNN’s Manu Raju, “I don’t have the coronavirus. … As of yesterday, I’ve never had it. But if I get it, you’ll never see me without a mask.”
Caught up with Louie Gohmert and he told me why he doesn’t wear a mask despite recommendations of CDC, Capitol physician and others. “I don't have the coronavirus. … As of yesterday, I've never had it. But if I get it, you'll never see me without a mask” https://t.co/bz0ijFVrIF

Now the Texas Rep. does have the coronavirus. Gohmert was set to meet up with Donald Trump on Wednesday. The illness was discovered during the pre-screen that all people have to go through before meeting with the President.

This is a still developing story.
