GOP Pundit: There's a Real Chance That Donald Trump Dumps J.D. Vance

In a piece for The Spectator, Editor Ben Domenech wrote that why it would be unprecedented and unlikely there is a chance that Donald Trump would dump J.D. Vance as his running mate.

Donald Trump is losing right now and when he is in this position, he looks to blame anyone other than himself. J.D. Vance has already shown to be a wildly unpopular VP choice and has been unable so far to turn around criticism against him. He's been so bad that some have been left to wonder if he could be replaced.

Domenech, a Conservative, believes that could happen. He wrote in his column, "there is a non-zero possibility that Donald Trump could decide to move on from J.D. Vance in the aftermath of the upcoming Democratic National Convention." He noted that it was because “Vance has been getting beat up without showing a strong capability to fight back."

The pundit closed his column:

"The idea may seem far-fetched, but in a cycle as crazy as 2024, another twist can’t be ruled out before November. And Trump may be the only candidate in modern history who would make such a surprising move, intent on resetting the storyline of the cycle once again. The political world changed the day Joe Biden stepped aside. Trump may need to change it again to get his momentum back."
