GOP, Kellyanne Conway Unironically Demands Transparency From Biden

Joe Biden is currently facing the first controversy of his campaign. The Democratic candidate has been accused of sexual misconduct by a former staffer named Tara Reade. He appeared on MSNBC’s Morning Joe on Friday to answer questions about the allegations.

While Biden strongly denied the claims by Reade, numerous members of the Republican party were unconvinced by his answers. The GOP, Kellyanne Conway and Ronna McDaniel all took to Twitter to take the candidate to task for his “lack of transparency.”

The GOP wrote on its Twitter account, “The most transparent thing Joe Biden did this morning? Admit that he is hiding documents so they can’t be used against him.”

GOP Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel made a similar statement. “Joe Biden’s interview only raised more questions about why he refuses to release his Senate records at the University of Delaware,” she said.  “His answers were nonsensical. What is he hiding?”

During an interview with Fox News, Trump spokesperson, Kellyanne Conway said, “Unseal the records. Let us go through them. You should unseal them anyway if you want to run for president.”

The clear counter argument for Democrats is that Donald Trump has lacked transparency from day one. The President has gone to great lengths to prevent the public from seeing his tax returns. Trump has also been accused of sexual misconduct by 25 women.

Aaron Rupar of Vox.com immediately took Conway to task for her hypocrisy. He tweeted, “A spokesperson for the first president in modern history to refuse to release his tax returns and who demanded that numerous women sign non-disclosure agreements making a case for Joe Biden to be more transparent is pretty rich.”
