Even after Arizona State Speaker Rusty Bowers gave powerfully emotional testimony during Tuesday’s January 6th House Select Committee hearings where he related how he stood up to Donald Trump’s demands to overturn election results in his state, Bowers said he would vote for Trump if he were to run again in 2024. It’s a surprising response, considering Bowers had clearly been traumatized by Trump’s actions and the subsequent harassment he and his family received. But it also speaks volumes as to the grip Trump still has on many within his party, despite the treason and the tiny hands.
Bowers may not be the only one who’d still vote for Trump in 2024, which makes no sense to me (“If he is the nominee, if he was up against Biden, I’d vote for him again,” Bowers said. “Simply because what he did the first time, before COVID, was so good for the county. In my view it was great.” NO RUSTY NO!), but at least one member of the GOP has now vocalized his disgust with Trump after watching the Committee’s most recent hearing on Thursday where Trump’s involvement with the fake electors scheme was laid out in full detail.
Soon after Bowers made that statement, Rep. Don Bacon (R-NE) told CNN’s Manu Raju on Wednesday that after watching the panel’s public hearings he “will not be supporting” Trump in the 2024 Republican primary, if he announces he’s running, although I’m still hoping he’ll be too busy in court to do anything else.
Remember when I said, all elected Republicans in DC will turn on Trump. And it starts on the Jan 6th Hearings
Check out Congressman Don Bacon (R Nebraska)

Bacon seems just fine with his decision, but expect a nasty response from Trump.
