“Go Back to Your Bunker” Seattle Mayor Taunts Donald Trump

Since the George Floyd protests began, Donald Trump has not often left the White House. The President had to cancel a golf trip over the weekend due to the bad optics. He was also blasted for using tear gas on peaceful protests so he could take a picture in front of a church.

While he has failed to speak to protesters or address the nation as a whole, Trump has been willing to give plenty of advice to the country’s mayors. To Seattle’s leaders, he offered a threat. In response, both Seattle’s Mayor, Jenny Durkan and Washington’s Governor, Jay Inslee ripped the President, calling him incompetent.

Trump tweeted on Wednesday night, “Radical Left Governor Jay Inlsee and the Mayor of Seattle are being taunted and played at a level that our great Country has never seen before. Take back your city NOW. If you don’t do it, I will. This is not a game. These ugly Anarchists must be stooped IMMEDIATELY. MOVE FAST!”

The President recently promised to deploy the military against American citizens and it didn’t go well. He was heavily criticized for the threat by Generals and former cabinet members John Kelly and James Mattis.

Durkan responded with a taunt of her own. “Make us all safe,” she tweeted. “Go back to your bunker.”

Inslee, who has been sparring with Trump for a while, responded by mocking Trump’s poor spelling. “A man who is totally incapable of governing should stay out of Washington state’s business,” he posted. “‘Stoop’ tweeting.”
