Billionaire Democratic donor George Soros has long been a target of derision from Conservatives. His name often comes up in different conspiracy theories and he is a common topic on Fox News. Many of the attacks on Soros, who is Jewish, can be considered to be anti-Semitic.
In a recent interview with New York Magazine’s Olivia Nuzzi, former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani talked about the mega-donor. The sometimes Trump lawyer said he is more of a Jew than Soros is and blasted him as a horrible person.
Giuliani’s boss Donald Trump has been known to attack Soros as well. During the Brett Kavanaugh hearing, Trump tweeted, “The very rude elevator screamers are paid professionals only looking to make Senators look bad. Don’t fall for it! Also, look at all of the professionally made identical signs. Paid for by Soros and others. These are not signs made in the basement from love!”
The former New York Mayor was even more critical of Soros in his conversation with Nuzzi. According to Guliani:
“Don’t tell me I’m anti-Semitic if I oppose him. Soros is hardly a Jew. I’m more of a Jew than Soros is. I probably know more about — he doesn’t go to church, he doesn’t go to religion — synagogue. He doesn’t belong to a synagogue, he doesn’t support Israel, he’s an enemy of Israel. He’s elected eight anarchist DA’s in the United States. He’s a horrible human being.”
In the same interview, Giuliani also bragged about his legal prowess. He said of his current legal issues, “If they think I committed a crime, they’re out of their minds. I’ve been doing this for 50 years. I know how not to commit crimes.”
