Ginni Thomas Urged AZ Lawmakers to Overturn 2020 Election Results and Her Husband Knew

The Washington Post reported Friday it had exclusively obtained emails that prove that Virginia “Ginni” Thomas, the wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, pressured Arizona lawmakers to set aside Joe Biden’s 2020 victory in the state and choose “a clean slate of electors”.

According to the Post, Ginni Thomas wrote to two unidentified lawmakers on November 9, 2020, six days after the general election, arguing they needed to intervene because the vote had been marred by “fraud”.

Despite no evidence of voter fraud, Ginni Thomas urged the lawmakers to “stand strong in the face of political and media pressure”, the Post says, telling them the responsibility to choose electors to present Arizona’s result to Congress for certification was “yours and yours alone” and that they had the “power to fight back against fraud.”

While Justice Thomas has made no public declarations regarding his wife’s connection to the Trump White House, the calls for him to resign have grown louder ever since it was revealed his wife exchanged nearly 30 text messages with Trump’s Chief of Staff, Mark Meadows, in the effort to keep Trump in office. In the texts, Ginni Thomas blatantly urged Meadows to do anything he could to subvert the democratic result so as to frustrate Joe Biden’s victory and keep Trump in power. Her husband would later rule in Trump’s favor regarding election challenges.

Ginni Thomas also shared a QAnon conspiracy theory in her texts with Meadows that Trump had watermarked ballots sent by mail supposedly in order to detect voter fraud. She also sent Meadows a video – backing Trump’s big lie that the election was stolen from him – created by a far-right “truther.”

Prior to those texts being shared, Ginni Thomas was already known as what some have now dubbed “Ultra MAGA,” with Thomas sharing links to Trump’s big lie. She also attended the January 6th “Save America” rally in Washington hours before the Capitol insurrection, posting on Twitter: “LOVE MAGA people!!!!” GOD BLESS EACH OF YOU STANDING UP or PRAYING!”

All other federal judges, including appeals court judges, are subject to a rule that says that they must recuse themselves in any matter in which “he or his spouse” is a party to, or has an interest in, the proceedings. It’s uncertain whether or not Justice Thomas’s co-workers will demand it be enforced.
