Geraldo Rivera tweeted out praise for Donald Trump wishing well Ghislaine Maxwell on Wednesday. The tweet comes after Rivera, himself, has defended Maxwell. Rivera’s tweet read, “When asked @realDonaldTrumpsaid he wished #GhislaineMaxwellArrested well. With media mob eager to see her lynched it was brave to weigh in. Fact: cases vs her are for crimes allegedly committed more than 25 years ago. She deserved bail & got solitary confinement: woke politics.”

President Trump said a few words about Maxwell on Tuesday during a briefing about the current surge of the coronavirus. He said, “I’ve met her numerous times over the years, especially since I lived in Palm Beach and I guess they lived in Palm Beach… but I wish her well, whatever it is.”
Ghislaine Maxwell is facing federal charges that she aided deceased sex offender Jeffery Epstein in sex trafficking, underage girls. Some girls were allegedly as young as 14 and Maxwell is accused of being their madame and sometimes participating in the sexual abuse. Epstein died under mysterious circumstances in 2019, although many do not believe the ruling that he committed suicide. Epstein and Maxwell had many powerful friends, including, Trump, Bill Clinton, and Prince Andrew, the son of Queen Elizabeth.
It is not known what secrets Maxwell holds or whether she will use them to leverage a deal, but many point out that it is probably in anyone’s best interest who knows them to support her. We will have to see what comes next as this case continues to unravel before our eyes.
