By now, if you have not heard of George Papadopoulos then you have likely been living under a rock. Papadopoulos, a former member of the foreign policy advisory panel to Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign, is believed to have been the spark which ignited the FBI’s probe into Trump’s ties to the Russian government.
While Papadopoulos only served a 14-day sentence for lying to the FBI, it’s his conversation with an Australian diplomat, Alexander Downer in a London bar, which appears to be a crucial part of the Mueller probe into Russian election interference. At this bar Papadopoulos reportedly told Downer that the Russians had dirt on Hillary Clinton.
George isn’t the only interesting figure within the Papadopoulos family however. Over the course of the last few weeks, independent investigative journalist Scott Steadman has pointed out that George’s new wife, Simona Papadopoulos, has lied extensively about her age on various documents, including her passport, which ABC News has a copy of in their possession. That’s not all though.
Simona tells HillReporter that the information being fed to Steadman came from the mother of George Papadopoulos, Katie “Kiki” Papadopoulos. She now claims that Kiki is feeding false information to the press because of a grudge that Kiki holds against her.
“She cannot accept a woman ‘taking away her son’ and she is breaching all the laws to give space to this insanity. She called the police against me last month saying [I stabbed] her son with a knife and kidnapped him. George’s family hate[s] that he is with an independent woman who supported him unconditionally because all they want is control but they are sick,” Simona Papadopoulos told us.
Simona then went on to tell us that earlier this year she and George were expecting a child, but something terrible happened. Back in August she says that she “had been abused [to] the point to lose a child.” The person who caused the loss of this child, according to Simona Papadopoulos, was none other than George’s mother, Kiki.
Simona elaborated on just what she claims Kiki did to cause her to miscarry, but we have agreed, at her request, not to publish these additional details as they were provided to us off the record. She also claims that she decided not to press charges against Kiki Papadopoulos because the crime took place in the midst of when George was awaiting sentencing.
We reached out to Kiki Papadopoulos to get her side of the story, and she flat out denied the allegations regarding abuse on her part, which led to a miscarriage.
“Everything she has said thus far is completely incorrect. She is mentally off. I don’t know why she is lying. She has lied from the very beginning,” Kiki told us. “If true, the first thing she would have done is taken a test. She did so many things, I could have her arrested for what she has done. I can say so much about her but we are very private, decent people. We live a pretty simple life but a happy life. My son was excelling and I was there for him. I was a single parent, and I was pretty strict,” she said.
When I asked Kiki if she had anything to say to her son and Simona, her reply sounded heartfelt and fearful:
“Run George, the further away from her, the happier you will be. And Simona, I don’t want to see her again in my life. She is nothing but a negative, fighter, name calling abuser. I have never ever in my life had such a dark, dark person, a deceitful con artist in my life. Really I am afraid of her. She is mentally off. You don’t know 90% of what she has done. If this is bad, there is a lot worse. What she’s done to my poor son. It’s been a horror. I am scared for my son. She’s a really lowlife sick person. That’s all I can say.”
As for the whole issue with her age, it does appear that Simona lied several times about how old she was. We have confirmed her age to be 37 based on the Italian identification card she provided us below.
While lying about one’s age to the media certainly is not a crime, if the passport that ABC news claims to have, does in fact show a different age (34), then we have entered the realm of fraud and forgery. But that brings up a whole other question. If she has been using a forged passport, what was its purpose and why hasn’t the FBI or the Mueller team done anything about it yet?
Over the past several months there has been a little bit of speculation as to whether it could be possible that Simona Magiante Papadopoulos is a spy of some sort. While there has been no evidence to point in this direction, USA Today did publish a video back in July where an Associated Press reporter questions her about rumors that she may have been a spy. Speculation of this has picked up further after the reports about her age discrepancies have come to light.
When HillReporter later asked Simona to help explain the discrepancies in the age on her passport (34) compared to the age on her Italian ID (37), it was her, not us who brought up the spy allegations, albeit in a sarcastic manner.
“I am a liar and a spy! I lied about my age which is 43 and I spy on my Husband[s] phone all the time 🙂 breaking news! 😉 write it…. I was vindicated. I can’t care less about a stupid campaign about my age- my background has been vindicated.”
Regardless, age doesn’t matter, but if she lied about her age on her passport, or if that passport isn’t legitimate, this could potentially open up a whole new can of worms.
One thing is for sure, Simona and George Papadopoulos aren’t moving out of the spotlight anytime soon. George Papadopoulos tells HillReporter that he is currently writing a book.
