George Conway: The Problem For Trump's Lawyers is that "A Lunatic is Telling Them What to Do"

There have been many instances where Donald Trump hasn't had the best legal representatives making his case for him. Rudy Giuliani and Sydney Powell might have been capable at one point, but that was long before they worked with the former President. People like Alina Habba and Jenna Ellis were never capable.

Todd Blanche, who represented Trump in his New York case, is a different story. He was once a prosecutor for the Southern District of New York and worked for a major New York City firm before working for Trump.

Blanche lost his case, of course, and George Conway believes the loss came down to one thing: his client.  The lawyer discussed the Trump case with The Daily Show's Ronny Chieng on Thursday night.

Conway began, "The fact of the matter is that the case was strong from the beginning and the prosecution actually executed perfectly. And the defense was kind of messed up because they have a problem." Chieng countered, "And, pray tell, what problem might that be?"

The lawyer responded

"The problem is that they have some lunatic telling them what to do. Every so often, he'd wake up and make a suggestion -- these were not good suggestions. He doesn't really know what he's doing."
