Donald Trump has done the best he can to project leadership during the time of the COVID-19 crisis. While he may have earned good reviews from some members of the media, there have been multiple statements uttered by the President that needed to be corrected.
While Democrats have criticized Trump, he still has plenty of loyal supporters within the Republican Party, one of them being Matt Gaetz. The Florida congressman took to Twitter on Saturday to praise the President’s effort while also criticizing Joe Biden.
Gaetz was reacting to Biden’s decision to have shadow press conferences to mirror Trump’s coronavirus briefings. The 2020 Democratic hopeful said:
“President Trump stop saying false things, will ya? People are worried they are really frightened, when these things don’t come through. He just exacerbates their concern. Stop saying false things you think make you sound like a hero and start putting the full weight of the federal government behind finding fast, safe and effective treatments.”
The Florida congressman tweeted, “Is Biden trying to thrust the confusion torturing his own mind upon the rest of us during crisis? I trust Donald Trump, Mike Pence & the health pros. I don’t trust Biden to know what state he is in. Biden should shelter in place, stay safe, and listen to his President.”
