On Saturday night, the President tweeted that he had planned on hosting leaders of the Taliban at Camp David. The peace efforts, however, we cancelled after the Taliban committed an act of violence in Kabul.
Democrats were angered by the idea of having the Taliban come into the country. Conservatives, like congresswoman Liz Cheney, slammed the Taliban while also praising Donald Trump. Fox News host Steve Hilton slammed Cheney for her comments, saying her family ties should prevent her from speaking on the subject.
Cheney tweeted on Sunday morning, “Camp David is where America’s leaders met to plan our response after al Qaeda, supported by the Taliban, killed 3000 Americans on 9/11. No member of the Taliban should set foot there. Ever. The Taliban still harbors al Qaeda. The President is right to end the talks.”

Hilton said on Fox News’ Outnumbered, “I can tell you how I’m feeling, which is very angry. [Trump] is actually trying to clean up the mess that all these establishment people, with their military-industrial complex cronies [have caused]… And Liz Cheney, my goodness. Please spare us.”
The conservative pundit continued, “She talks about deaths. Her father literally was responsible for not just the thousands of deaths that she rightly attributes to the Taliban, millions of deaths, billions of dollars wasted — funneled into the company that he was the CEO of. The corruption of this military-industrial complex… led to all these problems that Donald Trump is trying to clear up.”
Cheney seemingly remains proud of her message as it is the pinned tweet on her Twitter page.
