Earlier this month, when Joe Biden passed a bi-partisan bill through the senate, Republicans were desperate for a story to distract from that fact. They got their distraction when the president began to pull US military out of Afghanistan.
At first, the pull-out was tumultuous. But the ship has largely been righted and Americans an Afghanistan allies are being pulled out of the country in large numbers. Still, Conservative lawmakers are focused on criticizing Biden.
During a Thursday segment, Fox News military correspondent Jennifer Griffin chided those criticizing the president. “It’s not a time for congressman and people on the Hill, saying, woulda, coulda, shoulda,” she said. “It’s now time to look at the reality.”
“The reality is that they got 100,000 Afghan evacuees out since August 14th. They are still trying to rescue Americans who are trapped outside of the airport. There are active measures in place and what I have seen behind the scenes here at the Pentagon and with military sources in Afghanistan is nothing short of heroic.”
