Fox News Host Howard Kurtz Defends Network From Trump Polling Critiques
With the 2020 election looming, national polls have been taken more frequently and are getting additional media attention. Many of these polls have been unfavorable to the President, including ones conducted by the Fox News channel.
Trump has been quite vocal about his disdain for the polls and again tweeted his displeasure with those conducted by Fox on Sunday morning. Howard Kurtz, who hosts Media Buzz, was quick to reply the the President’s tweet and claim that the network has always been fair with him.
The President tweeted on Sunday, “Rasmussen at 50%. Media Buzz & Fox News are only getting worse! Now Donna Brazille & others on Fox. Not what it used to be!”

Trump frequently references his popularity with polling conducted by Rasmussen. While polling tracker Five Thirty Eight considers Rasmussen polls to be reputable, they also show them to have a 1.5% Republican lean.
Kurtz took the criticism of both Fox News and his show, Media Buzz, head on. He replied to the President, “Donald Trump just tweeted that Media Buzz is getting worse, apparently because I defended a Fox 2020 poll. I happen to think we make every effort to be fair to a POTUS much maligned by the media. Just had Hogan Gidley on last week!”

The host of media buzz also found an ally in Rasmussen, the polling company complimented by Trump. Rasmussen tweeted to Kurtz, “You’re a good journalist & anchor Howard Kurtz & always have been & always treated our spokeswoman Amy Holmes fairly. Wish there were more like you at Fox News however.”
